Parisian kitchens centre on marble — splashback, benchtop, or both. The classic move is a Calacatta porcelain-slab splashback running floor-to-ceiling behind the cooker, with veining matched into the benchtop for a single continuous marble plane. Pair with cream Shaker or fluted cabinetry, brushed-brass hardware, and a herringbone porcelain or timber floor. The whole kitchen reads dressed but lived-in — never trying too hard.
