What splashback says coastal without going themed?
A pale warm-white zellige or vertical-stack subway is the calm coastal move — texture and irregularity give it the hand-made feel. If you want colour, a soft sea-glass aqua subway behind the cooker only — keep the rest tone-on-tone.
Best floor format for a coastal open-plan kitchen?
600×1200mm matte rectified porcelain in warm white or pale grey. Large enough to minimise grout (and hide sand), small enough to install without specialist labour. Run the same tile through to the living area for continuity.
Will a white kitchen floor show sandy footprints?
